| Requirements
for Advertising Materials |
 |
| LMT prefers to receive materials on disk, with a high resolution, true-to-color, full size proof. Because variations can occur when ads are generated from digital files, advertisers are responsible for careful adherence to LMT’s requirements. |

Providing ads

Disclaimer: Although we will make every effort to produce your digital advertisement to look as you intend, neither LMT nor its printer assume responsibility or financial liability when our requirements for digital materials are not followed. You will incur additional charges if the following specifications are not followed and errors result.
- PDF Files: PDF files produced with full versions of Adobe Acrobat—not Acrobat Writer—are accepted. PDF files must follow LMT’s settings; call Nate Perry or Laurie Freddino at 203-459-2888 for details.
- Software: Software: If you are not submitting a PDF, our printer also supports the following:
- PC: Quark 7; PageMaker 7; Illustrator CS, CS2 and CS3; PhotoShop CS, CS2 and CS3; InDesign CS, CS2 and CS3
- MAC: Quark 7; PageMaker 7; Illustrator CS, CS2 and CS3; PhotoShop CS, CS2 and CS3; InDesign CS, CS2 and CS3
- Fonts: If possible, create outlines of or embed all fonts. Or, send all Postscript and True Type fonts used in the file.
- Images: Do not apply JPEG compression to your images or send DCS or pre-separated files (all image files must be in a composite format).
- Color: Please be sure that you have defined the color correctly in your advertisement and all images. In other words, all colors used in the file should be defined as process/CMYK or spot/PMS—never as RGB, index or lab. Failure to do so will result in color variations in your final printed product. Maximum ink density reading: 300%.
- Links: If possible, embed all images in your file. In addition, you must send all native .eps and .tif files used in your document.
- Resolution: Digital photographs and images should be at least 266dpi; line art/illustrations should be 1100dpi.
- Transparencies: You must flatten any files that contain transparencies (e.g., drop shadows, feathering, blending modes or varying degrees of opacity). For best results, always choose the highest resolution and/or best quality settings possible. If using Acrobat Distiller, choose Acrobat 1.3 compatibility to ensure transparencies are flattened.
- Trapping: You are responsible for correct trapping. You will incur a fee if our printer has to adjust files/images that are not trapped correctly.
- Bleeds: Bleeds must extend 1/4" beyond the ad size.
- Proofs: You must include a high resolution, true-to-color, full size proof for all ads. Laser proofs are not an accurate guide for color reproduction; LMT assumes no liability for color problems when a proof is not provided or when a laser proof is the only guide provided by the advertiser.
- Compressed Files: If you are e-mailing your advertisement, you must compress your files unless it is a PDF; PDFs do not need to be compressed. All compressed files must be PKZipped for PC files or self-extracting for Mac files.
- With your Disk: Please include a printed directory of all files on the disk. Open all the folders before printing the directory to be sure you have provided all the files and fonts our printer needs to generate your advertisement.
- Keep a Backup: You are strongly encouraged to keep copies of your electronic files. LMT assumes no liability for lost or damaged files. Disks will be stored for one year unless return is requested.
- Send advertising materials to: LMT Communications, Inc., 731 Main St., Ste. A2, Monroe, CT 06468.
